The heart of the MediaFly™ matrix switcher is a 4U rack mountable case containing a configurable back-plane into which a flexible number of input and output cards may be inserted. In this fashion, the system can be flexibly tailored to precisely meet existing and future needs-while accommodating nearly any present budget point.
The most popular features of the MediaFly™ hardware are:
- The Ability to handle a multitude of different signal types:
- Composite signal matrix with 24 individual inputs built-in and 63 composite outputs and 1 dedicated preview output.
- Component signal matrix with 8 individual inputs built-in, and 19 component outputs with 1 dedicated preview output.
- Audio signal matrix with 24 inputs built-in and 32 different audio zones.
- Digital audio and video signals.
- Or any combination of the above.
- The expandable nature of the rack system allows you to purchase only the minimum amount of hardware you require up front.
- The rack system's built-in soft-touch control panel and LCD screen allow for simple and intuitive functionality.
- Our InfraRouter® allows you to control any other a/v equipment remotely from the front panel of MediaFly™ using standard I.R. remote controls, or by utilizing the software's universal remote control capabilities.
- The ability to accommodate both RCA and/or Cat 5 wiring methods to reduce and simplify installation costs.

Beyond the rack mount switcher itself, individual button panels can be located anywhere throughout the environment. These remote panels can control functions such as input source selection, channel selection, volume, etc.
To facilitate simple and cost-effective installation of all peripheral a/v equipment, MediaFly™ offers the ability to push up to four different signal types over a single Cat 5 cable. Imagine transmission of component video and digital audio all in a single cable run-up to 500 ft. in length--with undiminished signal clarity.
